Melissa Dueñas

Acting Senior Vice President, Chief Communications Officer

 

Melissa Dueñas is acting senior vice president and chief communications officer for Lockheed Martin Corporation. In this role, she leads global communications strategies and activities across the corporation’s four business areas and international footprint, and provides strategic counsel to Lockheed Martin’s executive leadership team.

Dueñas joined Lockheed Martin in 2024, most recently serving as vice president of Communications for the Aeronautics business area. She was responsible for all facets of internal and external communications, including employee and executive communications, media relations, marketing and digital strategy, program and line of business support, social impact, and visual communications.

Prior to joining Lockheed Martin, Dueñas served as senior vice president and chief communications and marketing officer at Leidos, where she led enterprise-wide communications, marketing, branding, and philanthropic giving. She also held several leadership roles at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), where she focused on corporate communications, public affairs, and crisis response.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Dueñas began her communications career in military public affairs, where she specialized in photojournalism, media and community engagement.

She holds a Master of Business Administration and a Master of Science in Biotechnology from the University of Maryland, as well as degrees in Public Affairs, Asian Studies, and Aircraft Armament Systems Technology.

Dueñas serves on the board of directors for the Military Women’s Memorial at Arlington National Cemetery and Habitat for Humanity of Washington, D.C. & Northern Virginia.
