Accelerating Mission-Focused Capability: Digital Engagement Center Opens at Wayfinder in Honolulu
On July 30, Lockheed Martin opened the newest Digital Engagement Center (DEC) at Wayfinder in Honolulu, Hawaii. The DEC, operating inside the Wayfinder facility, underscores Lockheed Martin’s commitment to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and to allies and partners in the region.
Innovation in the Indo-Pacific cannot wait. As the pacing national security challenge, the region demands fast, collaborative problem solving and Lockheed Martin is answering the call.
Our Wayfinder facility in Honolulu is driving the shift. Wayfinder is more than a concept; it’s a destination. It embodies Lockheed Martin’s physical commitment to delivering innovative, mission-focused capabilities for the Indo-Pacific faster and with fewer barriers.
Wayfinder is a 6,000 square foot extension of the existing Lockheed Martin Honolulu site and delivers a fully networked digital laboratory for wargaming, concept development, prototyping and capability delivery. Lockheed Martin and commercial technology partners are integrated with the customer and able to iterate and provide feedback to engineers in real time.
Purpose built for the region, it enables Lockheed Martin to rapidly develop, test and deliver integrated capabilities across all classification levels, unclassified to TS/SCI/SAP, in digitally collaborative environment. Positioned near Indo-Pacific commands, it creates a landing place for commercial partners and mission operators to partner in a secure, networked lab that accelerates disruptive solutions at speed and scale.

The Experience Room in the all-new Digital Engagement Center (DEC) at Wayfinder Honolulu
Inside Wayfinder, the Honolulu Digital Engagement Center (DEC) will serve as a destination for business development professionals, program managers and technical experts to collaborate, brainstorm and strategize, all underpinned by an intuitive digital infrastructure.
It marks a clear departure from slow-moving, legacy defense processes.
The DEC is a customer demonstration environment designed for mission-focused collaboration. It enables unclassified operational analysis, mission planning and wargaming in a digitally networked environment—seamlessly connected to Lockheed Martin’s global innovation ecosystem, including the Lighthouse.
"The INDOPACOM customer wants to partner more closely on their highest-priority challenges,” said Michael Williamson, president, Lockheed Martin International. “With the addition of a new DEC to the Wayfinder in Honolulu, we’re putting our capabilities closer to the mission and creating a shared space where Lockheed Martin, the joint force and regional allies can align on solutions that matter.”
Together, the Lockheed Martin DEC at Wayfinder signals one thing: we are ready to innovate where it matters most.

The Demonstration Area in the DEC includes the full scale Vast™ System, wargaming display and F-35 training simulator.
Why Honolulu?
Hawaii plays a crucial role in maintaining stability and security within the Indo-Pacific region, particularly considering China’s attempts to expand its maritime territory, secure strategic ports and infrastructure and exert diplomatic pressure on regional nations.
Wayfinder provides a multilevel security environment that fosters collaboration, aiming to enhance Lockheed Martin's partnerships with INDOPACOM, as well as the joint force and integrate seamlessly with allies and partners across the region.

A traditional maile lei untying ceremony marked the blessing of the new facility, a Hawaiian custom symbolizing unity, respect and new beginnings. Woven from the fragrant maile vine, the lei carries deep cultural significance and is often used to commemorate moments of celebration, peace and partnership.
“We didn't just build a facility, we created a multi-level secure environment for partnership and innovation on island where none existed before,” said Joe DePietro, Lockheed Martin C6ISR vice president and general manager. “Wayfinder is a direct response to INDOPACOM’s call for deeper collaboration, faster cycles and regionally-focused solutions.”

Spotlight on the DEC
Designed to foster collaboration and transform ideas into actionable outcomes, the DEC’s advanced features and tailored capabilities ensure impactful engagements and strengthened partnerships across the Indo-Pacific region. Key highlights include:
- Customizable Spaces: Immersion hallway, experience room and demonstration area can be tailored to specific engagement objectives.
- Advanced Digital Technologies: Immersive visualizations and modeling and simulations to bring abstract concepts to life.
- Enhanced Collaboration: A dynamic environment to inspire strategic innovation and strengthen partnerships between Lockheed Martin, U.S. Indo-Pacific Command and allies and partners in the Indo-Pacific region.
- Tangible Demonstrations: Translates complex ideas, such as our vision for 21st Century Security®, into clear and comprehensible experiences. For example, the DEC can demonstrate Lighthouse connectivity through Digital Wargaming operations stations, MSE-Aegis Integration and Long-Range Fires C2 showcasing Lockheed Martin’s participation in Talisman Sabre 25.
The DEC also supports a range of broader initiatives, including STEM outreach, leadership engagements and program performance reviews.
A Global Network
The Honolulu DEC at Wayfinder joins a global ecosystem of twelve Lockheed Martin Digital Engagement Centers, including the recently opened DEC in Brussels, Belgium - our first internationally located DEC. The other 10 locations in the United States include two in Arlington, Virginia; Manassas, Virginia; Moorestown, New Jersey; Huntsville, Alabama; Grand Prairie, Texas; Owego, New York; Waterton, Colorado; Cape Canaveral, Florida; and Herndon, Virginia. Planning is underway for the next two DEC locations in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and Tokyo, Japan.
